VISION LOS ANGELES

Welcome to Vision Los Angeles, a groundbreaking effort to eradicate this region's devastating transportation crisis. From the outset, the goal of Vision Los Angeles has been to research, define, and implement solutions to the many problems associated with traffic congestion. This unique effort, spearheaded by a partnership between the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), plans for the future of Los Angeles by creating innovative solutions to the negative effects of a transportation system that no longer serves us.
In the past, the region has not adequately balanced the needs of environmental sustainability with business, innovation, and an evolving community. Parting from this trend, Vision Los Angeles brings together local business leaders, environmental advocates, housing and transportation experts, and elected officials to design solutions to reduce gridlock and improve air quality while supporting economic vitality and social equity. The consensus of this group serves as a foundation for a strategic plan for transportation in Los Angeles.
The members of Vision Los Angeles believe that the power to make a difference lies in everyone's hands. From this vantage, every Angelino has a vital stake in building a future that is economically and environmentally sustainable. Together, the private and public sectors have the capability and responsibility to make this region's air clean, its transportation system reliable, and its economy vibrant. The future of Los Angeles depends, in large part, upon our capacity to develop cross-sectoral consensus and merge our intellectual, financial, and physical resources. This is Vision Los Angeles.
